This last week was spent abroad in the humid, bug attacking country of Costa Rica. Yeah there were a couple downfalls to being in a rain forest, but it can still be marked as one of the most beautiful places I have visited.
I'm a sucker for hitting the local markets in foreign countries. I'm horrible at bargaining with the vendors, but thankfully I had a little help from my step-dad who seems to be a pro. Finding this backpack saved my life the last few days by the way. I'm obsessed with the combination of different fabrics and colors on the leather and it was a perfect addition to the trip as it stored my camera and other fun finds as I walked downtown Jaco in the 100 degree weather.
I spent the week indulging in the freshest fruits I've come across and every meal was amazing. I always wondered what "costa rican food" consists of, but from experience it was pretty mainstream. Very fresh and a lot of fish! Plantains and blacks beans was a personal favorite, but there was never a meal without the ripest mangos, watermelon and pineapple being served. I'm gonna miss this!
