You never realize how much your hometown has left an impact on your life until your first time leaving. I'm finally settled back in the Bay Area for the summer, but the few months away have taught me to appreciate the place I've come from. It's definitely a time where we find a lot ourselves catching up with the ones we  grew up with and we dedicate nights to reminiscing on the memories you seem you'll never forget. Even though most of us lose touch with some of the closest people from high school, time seems like it hasn't even changed as soon as you meet up. Another perk:  I've also found a ridiculous amount of excuses to eat out at my favorite restaurants in Danville, all of which have not changed a bit (thank god)! Now I'm just waiting for the 90 degree weather and hot summer nights the bay area usually brings to kick back in!

3. Steve Madden Sandals (Similar here)
4. Chloe Sunglasses
5. Vintage Necklace
6. Hair by Keely at Maurice Salon

Oh on a side note, I've completely jumped out of my comfort zone when it comes to this sweater, but I couldn't resist snagging it from one my new favorite stores, Luna in Huntington Beach (more on that next week.) Be sure to check in for a feature on trendy, yet affordable for my college wallet...I died over everything in the store.

Maxi Dress: Target / Sweater: Forever21 / Gold Braided Bracelet: Loehmans / Belt Buckle Bracelet: Mexico / Prayer Bead Bracelet: Handmade / All others: H&M / Sunglasses: Ray Ban / Belt: Vintage /  Shoes: Steve Madden

My roommate decided to strut her stuff in this ridiculously comfortable maxi dress that I knew I was going to be stealing within the next couple days of her wearing it. It's something about those nautical stripes that caught my eye and after realizing this multifaceted number could be tied and even covered in numerous ways, I took it on as a challenge to leave the house not looking like I completely stole her look. Alright so here it is... after coming to the conclusion that my 5'2 self is too short for this floor length number, I threw on the extra five inch Steve Maddens and tied the maxi up for a mid calf skirt look. And considering we are dealing with winter, or whatever you call this San Diego December, I needed a little somethin somethin to cover up the whole bare arm thing. Even though the Forever21 knit sweater probably had a couple hundred wholes, it made do for a day to the farmers market and I walked away with an amazing Organic Smoothie ( Raw & Living greens and fruits?) Much better than it sounds!

California Dreamin'

Roadtrip time! This last week has been one of the craziest weeks I have ever had. Apart from moving into my new house, I adventured throughout Southern California for a couple days and made just a couple pitstops.

Stop numero uno: Malibu

After obsessing over Planet Blue's website for way too long, I was lucky enough to run into one right next to my stop for dinner at Nobu. There are so many stores I would love to have right outside my door, although part of the fun is getting to randomly run into the things you love that you can't always get. As soon as I saw the 70's inspired prints in the window hanging next to oversized dream catchers, I knew I was at the right place and did not want to leave. My poor mother...having to wait for me as I sift through racks and racks of clothes(I love you mama!). Coming across these random obsessions are usually a topper to my today because I finally get the right to splurge! I mean its only necessary...everyone needs a souvenir from a trip and the white dress below was mine!:)

The lucky find from Planet Blue..perfect for a night out on the town when you're in the mood to stuff your face. Flowy and a perfectly baggy dress for taste testing the whole town. I don't think I mentioned this, but throughout this road trip I was living out of my fully packed car. These super comfy Steve Maddens are usually my go to, although with my other souvenir from Santa Monica, it was only necessary to combine the two. Once I got to my car it was goodbye Mr. Steve Madden and hello Jeffrey Cambpell. Switcheroo and boooom dinner in Beverly Hills I'm ready for ya!

Jeffrey Campbell... thank you for entering my life! xx

After Malibu and Venice Beach, this Socal tour was put to a close with a trip to the infamous Melrose Ave Trading Post. I first adventured into the great finds on Melrose a couple years ago and with a busy schedule I could never make it back. I always remembered how different this flea market was from anywhere else and I knew I had to get back ASAP. This was number one on my wish list for stops during this trip and thankfully we made it. After a long couple of days of constant driving, waking up  early to drive again wasn't exactly what we wanted to do. Although, with the thought of possible finds for my new room, I was more than okay with the bright and early rise and shine and the always interesting trek to find our way (thank god for iphone maps...lifesaver)

(The best afternoon break from a load of searching for treasure....CREPES)

(My personal closet for a couple days)
No idea how I did, but yes, I managed to get my whole room into my little ford escape.

NEXT STOP: SUNNY SAN DIEGO

Knot it up

Forever 21 Shorts, H&M blouse, H&M necklace, Michael Kors rose gold watch, Vintage rings, Steve Madden wedges.

We all need to try everything at one point or another right? Shooting was fun and everything, but lets just say modeling is not going to be next career move. Lets just talk shorts:)

Flowy, high waisted shorts seem to be my go to lately. Paired with a basic tee or a little less casual blouse, I cant seem to get away from these obsessions. Even though this hot weather comes and goes, I can't stand to throw on jeans! I've realized nothing comes close to the light-weight, cotton shorts that I've been finding at Free People, Forever21 or H&M(clearly my addiction). They have been currently taking over my closet and because of these new loves I'm hoping summer never goes away.
